As the name suggests, the family generals are the personal guards of the main god enshrined in each temple, who are responsible for assisting the main god in carrying out the duties of conducting incense patrols, traveling around the territory to control and eliminate pestilence, and punishing and judging the evil spirits. Since the main god of each temple has different ranks, the family generals are assigned with different god roles to carry out obnoxious actions, such as going on military campaigns, hunting and traveling around the territory, and entering temples to get down from their horses.
