Left hand points to the moon. Right hand holds the ground.
The heart is like a mirror. When things come, they come.
things that have passed away do not remain
Heaven and earth are with me.
All things are one with me.
This piece was seen during my 2016 Tibet trip to the 5,300-meter-high Everest base camp.
Our Lady of the Peaks, towering into the clouds, with snowy peaks and glistening snow, are connected to the sky. In addition to the five-colored streamers fluttering in the wind, there are also
There is no one there.
It is one of the spiritual sequences created after years of precipitation and illusion:
In the moonlight paintings of Our Lady.
The black color stands for empty.
Symbolizing "the absence of people".
Emptiness is the beginning of all things.
snow into the river.
Symbolizing "emptiness".
The five-colored streamers representing the five forms of heaven and earth.
The red moonlight represents the truth.
Blue, white, green, and yellow are transformed into a lush, everlasting world.
The finger symbolizes a Zen story:
During the Wu Zhou period of the Tang Dynasty, a bhikkhuni from the Wufilzang Temple said to the Sixth Patriarch Huineng, "I have been reading the Nirvana Sutra for many years, but I still have a lot of questions, and I hope that I can receive your enlightenment." Huineng replied, "I am illiterate, so please read the sutra to me, and I may be able to help you to clear up your doubts.
The Wufei Zangni couldn't help but laugh, "How can you talk about explaining the classics when you don't even know the words?"
Huineng said euphemistically, "Truth and words are different.
Truth is like the moon in the sky, and words are just fingers pointing to the moon;
Fingers can indicate the location of the bright moon, but they do not represent the moon, nor is it necessary to look at the moon through them."
Hui Neng patiently explains to her and enlightens Mukdeni.
In Zen thought, it was further developed into "no writing, no teaching, and the transmission of the mind through the heart".
The intention is that the "essence" is the goal, not just words and sayings.
Contemporary art may be just the thing.
The saying of the law has no form.
With the discernment of non-vocal colors.
Seeing that everything is not what it seems.
It is the opportunity to see the art in action.
Though "pointing to the moon" is said to mean "moon" rather than "pointing", yet all the people in the world are pointing to the moon as they see it.
We often live in the shadow of other people's two lips, and make ourselves very unhappy, if we can forget about other people's pointing, eyes and applause can make themselves live more elegant and happy.
